Your Profile
Everything account-related lives under Settings, which you can open from the app's navigation or the side menu.
What's on the Settings screen
Your card — at the top: your photo, name, and username, when you became a member, and your plan (Subscription: Free or Subscription: Thrive). The Upgrade button beside it opens the plan screen; once you subscribe it reads Upgraded!.

Log Out and Delete Account at the bottom, with the app version underneath.
Edit Profile
Change your First Name, Last Name, photo, username, phone number, Country, and State here, then tap Save Changes. Your email is shown but read-only — change it from Account Security.
Your country is the one profile detail that affects the app: it sets the currency amounts are shown in and the pay-frequency options you'll see. See Region & Currency. Nothing else in your profile affects your budget or projections.
Account Security
Two things live here:
- ›Send Reset Link — emails a password-reset link to the address you're signed in with.
- ›Update Email — enter a New email address and the app sends a confirmation link to it. The change takes effect once you confirm.
If you're signed out and can't remember your password, tap Forgot? on the login screen instead.
Standard advice applies and is worth following here: a password you don't use anywhere else. Your BetterBudgets account holds a detailed picture of your finances even though it holds no bank credentials.
Light and Dark Mode
Appearance only, set under Preferences. It doesn't affect anything else.
Log Out
Signs you out on this device, after a confirmation. Your budgets are tied to your account rather than the device, so they'll be there when you sign back in — on this device or another.
Delete Account
Permanently deletes your account and everything in it: all budgets, all tracking history, all canvases. The app asks you to confirm first.
This is irreversible. Full detail, including what to do about a subscription first, is in Data & Privacy.
Signing in
You sign in with your email and password.
You need an account to use the app — it opens on the login screen until you're signed in. See Setting Up Your Account.
